(Davis,November 17th, 2016 ) – Chen Cohen, a leader in the world’s animal rights movement will discuss the progress and challenges facing it today – and the growth of veganism – on November 17th, at Wellman 6 at UC Davis from 6:30pm-8pm. His talk is sponsored by StandWithUs (SWU), an international Israel education organization and co-sponsored by Israel on Campus Coalition and Aggies for Israel. Admission is free. Chen will also explain the human health and environmental cost of factory farming. He’ll focus on Israel, which ranks among the most progressive countries in terms of animal rights protections and contains more vegan restaurants, per capita. For example, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has vegan options for food and clothing; there are veg-fests and marches that attract 15,000 people of all denominations.
