Gascón noted that crime was going down despite the news coverage that would lead the public to the contrary conclusion.
“I would say one of the biggest challenges that we have is how can we get factual information in a way that people understand it, in a way that people see it,” he explained.
He added, “There’s so much misinformation concerning crime, and as you indicated, we’re actually, crime nationally, but certainly LA County per capita is coming down faster than many other jurisdictions that continue to adhere to the old way of doing business.”
