I am supporting Mariko Yamada for the State Senate in District 3, because she will represent the people of our District with the same commitment, vigor, intelligence, in-sight ,experience, and hard work she did while serving in the State Assembly for six years and as a County Supervisors before that for six years. Her commitment and life’s work revolves around making government work for the betterment of us all.
Mariko has a track record of supporting and working for the issues most people really care about: public education and children; aging and long term care; health-care reform leading to coverage for all; integrated mental health, alcohol and drug services; sustainable agriculture; and, protecting the Delta and the environment. Holding meetings and attending meetings with many different citizen groups, local governments, and professional organizations on an almost weekly basis is the way she gages and learns the needs, issues, and hopes of the people she represents.
Mariko’s accomplishments as an elected official in Sacramento are awesome and reflect her commitment and understanding of how government works. She chaired the Assembly Aging and Long Term Care Committee for five years and the Select Committee on State Hospitals and Developmental Center Safety and Veterans Affairs. She also served as a senior member on many other committees including Agriculture, Parks, Water and Wildlife, housing and community development among others.
Join me in casting your vote for Mariko Yamada for State Senate, District 3, when you vote. She will represent the constituents in the District with integrity and dedication to public service.
