Judge Clara M. Levers released a man on supervised own recognizance (SOR) after multiple parole violations, despite the prosecution’s argument to keep him in custody, citing the failure of the system to rehabilitate him.
A Yolo County Superior Court judge heard arguments on whether a recently released man charged with misdemeanors should remain in custody with bail set at $10,000, or be given the chance to enter a treatment program, with the defense arguing that the accused would benefit from an outpatient program and the prosecution arguing that he cannot be trusted outside of custody.
