The Trump administration is inflicting unprecedented violence and cruelty on immigrants, with ICE officers making violent courthouse arrests and detaining people with valid legal status for weeks, while legal service providers struggle to protect their clients in an arena with nearly no rules.
A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction requiring ICE to provide basic human needs to detainees at its San Francisco Field Office, including clean bedding, hygiene products, medical care, and legal information in their primary languages.
Over 100 clergy members gathered in Broadview, Illinois to protest the closure of the ICE processing facility, the release of detainees, and the allowance of spiritual care for detainees, but were met with violence from ICE and Illinois State Police during their arrest.
