A Yolo County judge denied a request to release an unhoused man with mental health needs to an available treatment bed, ruling that he posed a public safety risk after violating a criminal protective order and serving him with another such order.
A mentally ill man’s request for diversion was denied by a San Francisco judge after the victim of an out-of-state assault was revealed to be the man’s own elderly mother, and the court granted a firearm restriction to a defendant who had failed to adhere to his treatment plan and ordered another defendant to pay nearly $250,000 in restitution.
The court granted the accused permission to visit his father for Father’s Day, but denied his request for open-ended travel to Mexico due to a past altercation that occurred while he was off his prescribed medication.
The judge in Yolo County Superior Court intends to dismiss a misdemeanor domestic violence case in July if the defendant continues to make progress in his mental health diversion program.
