Governor Gavin Newsom has announced the groundbreaking of two new affordable housing communities in San Francisco’s Fillmore District, part of an ongoing effort to convert underutilized state-owned land into housing for low- and extremely low-income Californians.
Monarch, an affordable housing development in Sacramento, will create 241 homes for low- to extremely low-income residents, including those exiting or at risk of homelessness, and is part of Governor Newsom’s Excess Sites Program to repurpose excess state land into affordable housing.
