Vanguard Conclave Features Discussion on Homelessness (Video)

On Wednesday evening, the Davis Vanguard held its fourth conclave, this time on “Addressing Homelessness in Davis.”

Our discussion featured: Mayor Robb Davis, Pastor Bill Habicht, Michael Bisch from Davis Downtown, and Mary Anne Kirsch (on the board of Davis Opportunity Village – a non-profit that works toward micro-housing for homeless individuals).

As it turns out, we probably could have had ten people on the panel.  While it was a good hour and a half discussion, in a way we barely scratched the surface of the issue and so we are going to have another discussion in the coming months on the issue, with a different panel.

As it was, Bill Pride, director of Davis Community Meals and the new project, Davis Pathways, was able to add his voice to the conversation and explain their pilot employment program.
