A recent article published by The Vanguard, which argued that declining enrollment nullifies scrutiny of the Davis Joint Unified School District’s administrative compensation, has been criticized for allegedly misrepresenting community concerns. Critics assert that the article’s analysis overlooks fundamental issues of equity, spending priorities, and accountability within the district during a period of financial constraint, rather than solely focusing on administrative costs as the primary cause of fiscal challenges.

The DJUSD School Board voted to terminate services of classified employees due to lack of funds, while administrators received extremely large salary increases, highlighting the need for community members to speak up and ask questions.
