Dear Friends,

I am pleased to support Anthony Woods for election to Congress representing the 10th Congressional District. Anthony represents a new generation of young people fully committed to serving our nation.

I invite you to a special fundraiser for Anthony’s campaign on Friday, June 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Palm Court Hotel, here in Davis.

Anthony Woods is a progressive Democrat, a highly accomplished human being, a gentleman and most importantly a young person committed to making positive changes by bringing social, economic and environmental justice to our great county. Anthony will be a strong voice in our collective work to better the world we all live in.

Anthony Woods was born and raised in the 10th Congressional District here in Fairfield, California. Following his high school graduation he received an appointment by Congressman Vic Fazio to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Upon graduation Anthony served our nation during two tours of duty in Iraq earning a Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal and was promoted to the rank of Captain. He is a graduate of the Harvard University JFK School of Government and has recently served as an Economic Policy Advisor to New York’s Governor David Patterson.

The 10th Congressional District is currently represented by Ellen Tauscher who will resign her office upon confirmation as an assistant Secretary of State in the Obama Administration. This will require a special election to be held to determine her successor.

Many of you will remember our efforts to elect Charlie Brown to Congress which resulted in supporting a great candidate who came close to winning in 2006 and even closer in 2008. We again have an opportunity to help a veteran and progressive Democrat go to Congress.

Please join us at this special fundraising event.
