Take Back Our Democracy – November 30

A community potluck meeting of “Take Back Our Democracy “ will be held on Tuesday, November 30  at 6:30 PM at Village Homes, 2661 Portage Bay East in West Davis. This follows a very successful meeting sponsored by Public Citizen to mobilize grassroots support for legislative action against the manipulation of our elections by corporate interests. We’ll join forces with other, like minded progressives who understand democracy is, ultimately, in our hands. Let’s see what we can do in the remaining weeks of the Democratic congress. We will have updates on the effort for fair elections from Public Citizen, Progressive Democrats of America and other online activists groups. We’ll also discuss other progressive concerns… and relax with some good food.  Please address questions to zbox@dcn.org.

  1. you people can talk to your collective selves all you want. it won’t change the results of November 5.
Rusty makes a good point. As if labor unions don’t throw piles of money at candidates to get them elected? AFSCSME raised 87.1 million for the democrats. Howard Dean, when running for office, became known for raising record amounts of cash over the internet. I really get irritated when progressives throw all of their Union resources at winning an election, then put halos over their heads and act like they are only raise money from private individuals. you got the excrement kicked out of you on the fifth, and you need to get over it and stop making excuses.
