Bicycles Needed for Birch Lane Bike Program

The Birch Lane Elementary School Bicycle Committee is seeking 20-inch, 24-inch and 26-inch bicycles for its new Birch Lane student bicycling program.  The program aims to provide bicycles, helmets and locks to all students who need them.  Bike Forth, Davis Bicycles!, the Davis Bike Club, and the Voluntary Gas Tax Committee are supporting the committee’s program by providing mechanical and safety bike checks, helmets and helmet fitting, bicycle riding and cycling safety instruction, and bike locks and lights.  If you have an appropriately sized bicycle that you would like to donate, please deliver it to Birch Lane Elementary during school hours or to Bike Forth during their open hours (M 1-5, T/W/Th 4-8, Sat 12-6; address 1221 ½ Fourth Street). Bike Forth is a non-profit organization; owners donating directly to Bike Forth will receive a receipt for their tax-deductible donation.

If you would like to help inspect and repair bicycles for students, please email here.
