Join the Discussion Regarding Local Needs and Homelessness:

(from city press release) On Monday, November 17 at 6:00pm in the Community Chambers at 23 Russell Blvd., the City of Davis Social Services Commission will host an hour-long workshop discussion on homelessness.  This workshop will include an overview of identified local needs and information on existing services, as well as a small group discussion activity to collect insights and questions from meeting participants. There will also be local resource information and volunteer opportunity information at the meeting.

After the workshop, please consider staying for the Social Services Commission meeting that will include a community needs discussion starting at approximately 7:30pm with a panel of local service providers. The City will use this meeting discussion, and collected responses to the written community survey on this topic, in the preparation of a 5 Year Consolidated Plan for use of its federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds. The Consolidated Plan identifies the City’s overall housing and community services needs for low- and moderate-income persons and provides strategies to address those needs by offering programs and projects with specific goals.  Please provide your thoughts on local needs by attending the meeting and/or completing the survey that is located at the following website: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DavisCommunityNeeds

Don’t miss the opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas!
