Readers:Great news – we have reached our $2000 goal, assuming everyone who committed to sending a check before Thursday, follows through. I thank all of our donors profusely for the ongoing support.
At the beginning of the month, we had a goal of 100 subscribers and we are making good progress on that goal as well. For the cost of as little as $10 a month, you can help to keep the Vanguard going.
We are excited about our new site and the many additions that we will be rolling out on a monthly basis and we hope that a new stable web environment will allow us to push forward more changes.
We continue to rely on advertising and community donations rather than paid subscriptions to fund our costs. As we grow, the costs to maintain the site continue to grow, as well.
So if you haven’t already signed up to become a subscriber – Please donate today by clicking on the link. You can also make a one-time payment starting at $120 to become a subscriber. You can do so either by credit card at the previous link or by mailing a check to Davis Vanguard, PO Box 4715, Davis, CA 95617
Thank you again to all of our great donors and we look forward to continued growth in 2015.
As I recently joined the conversation, I am curious what the “other site” is?
I thank you for allowing me to read these, and voice a question now and then. I enjoy the conversations from the people on here, and the articles presented.
We build a website last December and ended up building a new website in September of this year. Different versions of the same website basically. Sorry for confusion.
Gracias!
Hi David, I have cataracts. It would be very nice if I could enlarge text on your site. No the larger font doesn’t do what I need. I can’t copy, paste or use any of the edit tools with my iPad for the last month or so. I would really like email notification of replies to my posts (like you used to do) because it consumes way too much time wading through the faux news echo posters to find actual comments that I care to read. It would be nice if some effort/stories focused on the downside of development. The blog has been captured by the people you cover.
DB, that enhancement to the site is on the formalized list that we are working through with the site’s technical support team at Uptown Studios. The last time I checked, that feature was due to be added to the site in January.
What cracks me up about some of the commenters on the Vanguard is you’ll never see conservative commenters asking for readers to ignore left wing posters or their comments. It seems the conservatives on here are much more tolerant of all opinions and you’ll never see them trying to shut down another’s thoughts unless of course they don’t abide by the Vanguard ethics policy. I also always love it when you see the “faux news” snipes, like many on the left don’t sound like msnbc echo posters? But you’ll never see conservatives trying to shut them down or calling for people to ignore their posts.
