Davis Joint Unified launches new look and logo

(From District Press Release) Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) rolls out a new logo today. This marks the first significant change in the look of the district in more than four decades and follows the 2013 approval and early phase implementation of the DJUSD Strategic Plan.

“We have a new mission and our path to success is defined by how well we are meeting the strategies outlined in our Strategic Plan and the goals of our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Our new logo supports our efforts to unify our message and communicate our objectives and progress effectively,” said Winfred Roberson, Jr., Superintendent.

While the new look expands the color and versatility of the logo for digital use, the design draws on core fundamentals of an educational institution, with a book doubling as a graduation mortarboard. The acronym DJUSD now plays an official part of the logo.

A district working group comprised of high school students, staff and community members helped develop a profile that guided the design. The logo was created by the Davis-based design firm Wyman Design.

While preparations have been happening since the School Board’s endorsement of the design in early November, today marks the official logo launch. The new look and logo will be prominently displayed on the district Facebook page, letterhead, vans, signage and some staff clothing. The logo is also visible now on the district website at www.djusd.net.
