On July 30, the Davis Vanguard celebrated its 9th birthday of its founding. In addition to reporting on vital news, the Vanguard has had an ongoing public dialogue about key issues in the city and the region.
Over the past year there have been parallel discussions in the Davis community and Greater Sacramento Region centering around the need for additional space for startups and growing businesses as well as ways to foster the startup culture. In Davis, the startup culture was jump started around groups like Davis Roots and Pollinate Davis and ongoing events such as the meetups by Jumpstart Davis.
The knowledge economy is the use of knowledge and in particular “knowledge-based technology” to help transform human knowledge to technology and help transfer knowledge arising from university research to the market through technology transfer.
The event is open to the general public at $50 per person. Complimentary appetizers and wine will be served. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the discussion will start at 6:30 pm with a brief talk by each panelist, followed by questions from the audience.
Direct donations to the Vanguard can now be made at PayPal – click here.
