Bill DoddDemocratic Student Organization Applauds Assemblymember for Commitment to Education, Gun Control

In a unanimous vote, the Davis College Democrats announced today that the group has endorsed California State Assemblyman Bill Dodd (D-Napa) in the race for State Senate District 3.

“While all candidates represented the Democratic platform well, we believe Assemblymember Dodd has the right leadership skills to pass meaningful legislation as a State Senator,” said Rebecca Salgado, President of the Davis College Democrats. “All you have to do is look at his record in both Napa County and the Assembly to see that the Assemblymember knows how to make partnerships to get things done.”

“We believe it is his skill set that makes Assemblymember Dodd the best candidate to address the needs of college students, who are grappling with high tuition costs and mountains of debt, and other key issues such protecting our environment, addressing women’s rights, and promoting sensible gun control legislation,” said Salgado, who also serves as Vice President of Membership for the statewide group California College Democrats.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Davis College Democrats,” said Bill Dodd. “In the time I’ve known this group, I have been continually impressed by their dedication to civic engagement, political activism, and their drive to push forward the values of the Democratic Party. I look forward to continuing to work with them to find solutions to the needs of students throughout the state of California.”

The endorsement followed a public panel of Democratic California State Senate District 3 candidates on November 18, 2015.
