Yamada earns key endorsements from the California Democratic Party’s Secretary and Controller
Mariko Yamada, candidate for California State Senate District 3, announced today the endorsement of California Democratic Party Secretary Daraka Larimore-Hall and California Democratic Party Controller Hilary Crosby.
Larimore-Hall and Crosby join an ever-growing coalition of statewide Democratic leaders and organizations, including California Nurses Association, California Federation of Teachers, California Women’s List, CA State Controller Betty Yee, CA State Treasurer John Chiang, CA State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, Congressman John Garamendi and scores of state legislators from up and down the state.
CDP Secretary Daraka Larimore-Hall stated, “There are many reasons I support Mariko – she has always been there for working families; she’s a consistent progressive voice for education, the environment and a fair economy; and she stands up for the most vulnerable and marginalized people in our state. I know she will carry these same values forward in the California State Senate.”
CDP Controller Hilary Crosby said, “I’m supporting Mariko because I like the way she votes on issues I care about – the environment, income inequality, women’s health and gun control. But more importantly, I like how she votes: with courage and integrity. I can always count on Mariko to stand up for what’s right – not what’s expedient. We need more women like Mariko in the California State Senate.”
Yamada said of the new endorsements, “I’m honored to have both Daraka and Hilary’s support in this race. I’m proud to stand with them to advance the values of economic fairness and social justice that are at the core of the Democratic Party. I look forward to working with them, the Party and my colleagues as a member of the State Senate.”
