WHAT: Environment California is holding an event to raise public awareness about the decline of bees and the usage of insecticides that are a known cause of the decline. This is part of the organization’s grassroots campaign called “No Bees, No Food.”
WHY: This is one of many efforts to bring more attention to this issue and convince the EPA to make it a higher national priority. Documentation on the decline of bees has been available since 2006, yet known contributors such as insecticides on agricultural crops are still used at high rates. These chemicals are regulated, but that is not enough—they should be banned completely.
WHO: Two beekeepers in the Davis area and myself (Alissa Yum with Environment California)
WHEN: Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 11 AM
WHERE: The Davis Food Co-op, 620 G Street, Davis, CA 95616
Fun visuals — people, posters, and displays of local produce that would be unavailable without bees.
the incessant “mosquito spraying” is killing off the bee population, and adversely affecting organic farming in adjacent areas..
it is killing beneficial insects and allowing the spread of mosquitoes…
get a clue and get a grip….ban the spraying….and invest in many, many more of the beneficial insects…
restore balance…
stop listening to the stupid hype about West Nile and now it is zika….
only animals which are already sick will have a compromised immune system and are at risk of getting truly ill or dying…
that includes human animals…especially those who are over vaccinated and who are being killed by the policies of the BO administration….the AMA, CDC, ADA, FDA, Supreme Court and other Monsanto run organizations…
WOW….and no-one else gives “F” about this topic…while capital retail in Davis gets 238 comments?????? wow…. and the Office of whatever nonsense gets tons of action over on the “Aim” topic….that is not so surprising but… really no-one here cares about our bees nor our food?
really???????
