Learn about the Woodland Transit Center project and provide input on Wednesday, May 2
The Yolo County Transportation District, in collaboration with the City of Woodland, is planning for a new transit center in Downtown Woodland.
“Planning for a downtown transit center is an investment in Woodland’s future,” said Yolo County Transportation District Executive Director Terry Bassett. “We are looking to build a facility that will meet current and future transit riders’ needs for the next twenty years and beyond.”
The Woodland Transit Center project will identify a suitable site for a sustainable transit facility that provides convenience for transit riders and visitors, is integrated into the downtown area to support local businesses, and is safe and accessible for all by design.
“A modern-day transit center can include other uses such as office, retail and restaurants,” said Mayor Pro Tempore Xóchitl Rodriguez. “This project presents a unique opportunity for the City to make our transit system more efficient and provide more amenities to downtown.”
Community members are encouraged to learn about the project and provide their input at a community meeting on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at any time between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. The community meeting will take place at Woodland City Hall, which is located at 300 1st Street in Woodland. A brief presentation will begin at 5:45 p.m. The community will then be able to ask project team members questions. Spanish interpretation services will be available at the meeting.
