My “BigDOG” Bear sent $15 to fight hunger, it cost him nothing, you can do it too!

by Michael Bisch

For several weeks now, I have been sharing short stories about the work of your Food Bank and our 70 local nonprofit partners, such as ASUCD Pantry, STEAC, CommuniCare, Empower Yolo, Meals on Wheels, Mercy Coalition and others.  The Big Day of Giving (“BDOG”) is now finally upon us.  At 11:59pm tonight, we will know by just how much the community has chosen to embrace this day of intensive philanthropic giving in order to propel forward our hunger relief network.

If we reach our $100,000 goal, one in four children and their hardworking families, seniors, college students and many other vulnerable Yolo County residents will receive half a million pounds of nourishing food.  This nutrition will be accompanied by wrap-around services, such as medical and dental care, mental health counseling and emergency shelter.  BDOG literally can change lives.  Together, we can make it so!

On this Big Day of Giving, I invite you to click HERE and “share” Farm Fresh to You’s post about Yolo Food Bank.  When you do so, Farm Fresh to You will donate $5 for every “share,” and I will add $10 for each “share” to express my gratitude.  Please help me empty my wallet on BDOG, and let your friends and family know too!

You are also welcome to make your own donations at bit.ly/BDOGYFB2019
