Joseph Allen Davis, 19, of Sacramento, was indicted by a federal grand jury on one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, after police determined he was the shooter in an April 2025 shooting at Rainbow City Park in Davis.
Carlos Reales Dominguez’s murder trial continued with testimony from a forensic evaluator and a victim’s acquaintance, with the defense presenting evidence that Dominguez had schizophrenia and the prosecution questioning the credibility of the defense’s expert witness.
Dominguez’s former girlfriend testified about his deteriorating mental health and unusual behavior, while the prosecution called a witness who reviewed surveillance footage of Dominguez and a university witness who discussed his academic disqualification.
The accused faces one count of felony petty theft, with an enhancement for circumstances in aggravation, and the defense is seeking treatment over incarceration due to the accused’s longstanding substance abuse issues.
