The Vanguard Radio Show Tonight on KDRT 101.5 FM from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM will have two guests: Waterford Mayor William Broderick-Villa and Waterford Unified School District Trustee Vicky Johnson.
Back in March, the Vanguard reported that Waterford was having problems stemming from the relationship between their Superintendent Howard Cohen, a former Principal at Davis High School, and Tahir Ahad and Total School Solutions.
On Thursday, the board will meet to determine whether or not to extend the contract of Superintendent Cohen on the eve of a new school board possibly being seated. Mayor Broderick-Villa, a math teacher and Board Member Johnson will update us on the situation in Waterford and discuss some of the background of what went on there.
There are amazing parallels to DJUSD and its relationship with Tahir Ahad and Total School Solutions.
DPD, I really do appreciate that you are following this issue — Total Solutions, etc.
But for the sake of some journalistic integrity, could you contact and interview Mr. Ahad? or at least give him a chance to refuse an interview.

In fairness to DPD, Mr. Ahad certainly had at least two chances to respond. First, like anyone he could have posted a response in the comment section. Second, he could have requested space on the front page of the blog. Unlike a newspaper there really is open access here that affords DPD a bit more liberties.

Cohen living in the Bay area, yet commuting two hours to Modesto? Funny how Cohen has to be absent a good deal of the time, just as Tahir Ahad was. Cohen moving items forward that are not on the agenda? Yet School Board members in the majority ignoring the corruption of process, while the minority has their hands tied in frustration. I wonder if there are any other school districts out there who have had equivalent experiences with TSS. Is this just a couple of unscrupulous individuals, or is this a systematic problem w/ TSS?
