Vanguard Radio May 13: Hate Crimes

May 13, 2009 show – The Vanguard interviewed two UC Davis professors on the subject of hate crimes and the impact of Prop 8 on the gay and lesbian population.  UC Davis School of Law Professor Courtney Joslin discussed civil rights issues as they pertain to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender individuals. UC Davis psychology professor Gregory Herek is the author of a landmark 2007 study that found that crimes against sexual minority adults, especially gay men, are disturbingly widespread in the United States and discussed how hate crimes impacts victims as opposed to other types of crime.
