Yolo County chapter is forming a new board of directors and we’re looking for interested parties. Join with like-minded activists in ACLU chapters across Northern and Central California to take action and fight for justice!
Chapter board members make a commitment to advance civil liberties in their communities through local advocacy campaigns, community education, and participation in state and federal legislation or ballot initiatives.
- Chapters carry out local campaigns to protect and advance civil liberties for all members of the community, by advocating with city councils, school boards, local law enforcement agencies, and other governing bodies.
- Chapters extend the reach of the ACLU throughout the region by organizing empowering educational workshops and supporting the local efforts of coalition partners.
- Chapters help us win victories in local, state, and federal legislatures and at the ballot box through grassroots organizing, lobbying, and speaking at hearings.
As a Yolo County chapter board member, you will contribute meaningfully to your community and carry out the critical work of the ACLU at the local level. If you are ready to take action, please click on this link to fill out the online application: https://www.aclunc.org/about/chapters/join-chapter-board. Applications are due on November 30th. You do not need to have prior experience in order to join Yolo County’s chapter board, your commitment is enough. As a Yolo County chapter board member, the ACLU will help you to learn the necessary skills to do local advocacy, community education, and to participate in state-level campaigns.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with your local ACLU chapter.
