Saving California Communities and the University Retirement Community Outreach/Inreach Committee to host public forum

Tired of people yelling over each other so that no one is heard? Want to reflect on the impact of incivility and polarization on civic participation? In the midst of the most contentious election cycle on record, Saving California Communities and the Outreach/Inreach Committee of the University Retirement Community will host a community forum on civility in the public space. Speakers include Joan Blades of MoveOn.org and Living Room Conversations, Mindy Romero of the California Civic Engagement Project, and the Reverend Kristin Stoneking of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

The forum takes place on Monday, October 17 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Auditorium at University Retirement Community, 1515 Shasta Drive, Davis. The event is free and open to the public. Valet parking will be available.

Saving California Communities is a group of Yolo community members who join forces to advocate for effective state and local governance. This group brings together county, city, and school elected representatives; educators; parents; students; health professionals; university and community college representatives; senior citizens; and business owners.
