Next Steps for Davis with Passage of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA)
Beginning November 9, 2016, the use of marijuana by people 21 and over, as well as possession and cultivation for personal use within guidelines, is permitted in California. AUMA allows for our City to have local regulations on some aspects of personal use as well as full regulatory authority over commercial marijuana businesses. The City is in the process of creating this regulatory framework and is holding a facilitated, informal discussion to hear your perspective on any aspects of the City’s implementation of AUMA, including:
- Outdoor Cultivation for personal use (limited by AUMA to 6 plants)
- Zoning and regulation on cannabis businesses such as commercial cultivation, manufacturing, testing, dispensaries, and delivery services
This is your opportunity to share your point of view and engage with diverse viewpoints in a participatory setting.
(This is not a formal Public Hearing. The Public Hearing will occur later, and the City will provide appropriate public notice.)
February 1, 2017, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at the Davis Senior Center,
646 A Street
No RSVP is needed and everyone is welcome.
