Vanguard Monthly Conclave: Addressing Homelessness In Davis (Updated)

Wednesday, July 26 from 6 PM – 8 PM

Sophia’s Thai Kitchen
129 E St, Davis, California 95616

Join us on July 26 for our fourth monthly conclave as we dive into the issue of homelessness.

Back in May, the Davis Chamber hosted a walkabout to focus attention on the issue of homelessness. The takeaway message: there is no magic bullet solution to the problem.

Robb Davis fears that without housing and wrap-around programs, with the low cost of methamphetamine and other drugs, “the amount of money necessary to get a week’s supply of the drugs we’re talking about is very very low.”

“I don’t think there’s any one magic bullet,” he said.

Robb Davis said, “There’s no one thing we can do, there’s simply not.”

So what can we do? That will be the subject for the discussion.

Joining us to discuss this issue:

Mayor Robb Davis
Pastor Bill Habicht
Jason Taormino, Davis Chamber President
Mary Anne Kirsch, Board Member, Davis Opportunity Village

Event will be held at Sophia’s Thai Kitchen in the patio
Doors open at 6 pm, event starts at 6:30
Admission is free but there is a suggested sliding scale $15 to $50 donation
A portion of the proceeds at the bar will go to the Vanguard
