Tracy Miller, a veteran prosecutor, was retaliated against after reporting sexual harassment by a politically powerful insider in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, leading to her filing a landmark lawsuit against the office for its failure to protect its employees and uphold justice.
Orange County was ordered to pay $1.54 million in attorneys’ fees in addition to a $3 million verdict in favor of former Orange County senior assistant district attorney Tracy Miller, who was awarded damages after alleging harassment and retaliation by District Attorney Todd Spitzer and Judge Shawn Nelson.
Orange County taxpayers could ultimately bear tens of millions of dollars in costs defending a growing number of sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuits against District Attorney Todd Spitzer and his administration, due to a lack of accountability at the highest levels.
