Startup Weekend, a global grassroots movement for empowering the entrepreneurial at heart, is returning to Sacramento this weekend, April 29 – May 1st, 2016. Of particular interest to many in Davis and the greater Sacramento area, this Startup Weekend is focused on health/healthcare, a complex field where there is plenty of room for innovation.
If you want to impact health, medical devices, healthcare IT, wearables, biotech, fitness, mobile health, biomedical science & technology, pharma, patient experience and anything health-related, join the Startup Weekend Sacramento – Health Edition and immerse yourself in the ideal environment for startup magic to happen. The goal is to bring together nurses, designers, developers, entrepreneurs, physicians, engineers, patients, medical technicians, marketers, graphic artists, scientists, and more, to pitch ideas (Friday evening), form teams around those ideas, and work to develop a working prototype, demo, or presentation by Sunday evening.
Startup Weekend offers a fun, intense, risk-free way to get your startup off the ground, connect with others passionate about solving challenges related to health, and perhaps even find a co-founder or two to transform your ideas into reality. The Health Edition volunteer organizers have either participated in previous Startup Weekend events, and/or are interested in positively impacting health & healthcare. Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 150 countries. From Romania to South Africa to Mongolia to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.
