The Vanguard is a non-profit organization that runs a news site out Davis and. is pushing to expand a court watch program into Sacramento and San Francisco. In 2016, the Vanguard had a monthly operating budget of $5000 plus additional costs.
Our goals for 2017 include:
- Full time office staffer – right now we have a part time office assistant
- Full time Yolo Court Watch reporter
- Full time Sacramento Court Watch reporter
- Full Salary for Executive Director (currently he makes $1500 a month)
- A Sac/ Yolo Court Watch Supervisor
Each position would add about $3000 to $5000 per month to the ongoing costs
Currently we bring in about $1500 a month in ongoing revenue which means we have to raise around $3500 just to pay minimum costs.
We have a sliding scale level of support: Sustaining Members
- $5000 per month – Social Justice Champion
- $2500 per month. – Free Speech Advocate
- $1000 per. month – Independent Media Victor
- $500 per month – Vanguard Defender
- $300 per month – Vanguard Advocate
- $100 per month – Vanguard Sustainer
- $50 per month – Vanguard Friend
- $25 per month – Vanguard Supporter
- $10 per month – Vanguard Subscriber
