On Thursday, the Vanguard’s Weekly Video series turned to the issue of the Opioid Epidemic discussing the issue of prescription drugs and heroin locally with Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov, KaiLee Johnson who lost a significant other to addiction, and Dr. Tia Will, who filled in for Yolo County Health Officer Ron Chapman.

KaiLee is completely misinformed about the possibility of recovery from addiction. Her statements that people who use one drug X days of inpatient treatment while people who use a different drug need Y days of inpatient treatment is complete nonsense.
There is however a shortage of inpatient programs though it is important to note that many people do well without any inpatient treatment.
