Former Visit Yolo Director Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

By Taite Trautwein

Alan Scott Humason pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges Wednesday afternoon. As director of Visit Yolo for over seven years, Humason embezzled over $51,000.

Humason acted as Chief Executive Officer of Visit Yolo, formerly known as the Yolo County Visitors Bureau, from February 4, 2011, to June 10, 2017.

In total, Humason now owes $77,856.44 in restitution, for both the amount he embezzled as well as the cost of the audit that eventually caught him.

Humason is set to be officially sentenced on April 18, but per his plea agreement he will be subject to both three years of probation and 120 hours of community service.

The Yolo County Probation Department will conduct an interview with Humason on March 28 and subsequently give their sentencing recommendation to Judge David Rosenberg.
