(From Press Release) – Restorative Justice International (RJI) has announced its endorsement of Chesa Boudin, candidate for District Attorney for the city and county of San Francisco, California.
From RJ’s intensive podcast interview with Chesa (September 30, 2019) we learned that his vision for reform of the justice system was in line with the mission and goals of Restorative Justice International. RJI endorses Chesa because he supports 1) restorative justice as a means of reform of the criminal justice system, 2) giving crime victims a voice in the justice system, 3) responding to mass incarceration by utilizing alternatives to incarceration that includes restorative justice which stresses offender accountability, and 4) addressing more directly and consistently the injustice of wrongful convictions in our jails and prisons.
