Vacaville’s Shame Is Now Public

A man stood up in a Vacaville town hall meeting to defend his father’s right to practice his faith with dignity, but was met with threats of violence from a mob that was actually opposing a request for better plumbing at the local mosque.

The phrase “In God We Trust” was added to US currency in 1864, long after the founding of the nation, and was not part of the original vision of a secular government established by the Founding Fathers, but was instead added by religious activists in the 20th century to claim the republic for Christianity.
