Industry Study Suggests Housing Regulations Increase Rent, Affecting Low-Income Families
A new study funded by the NMHC and NAA found that certain housing regulations, such as source-of-income protections, just-cause eviction requirements, and resident screening laws, are associated with higher rent costs, especially for lower-income households and renters in small multifamily buildings.
