The Trump administration has made $1.1 billion in cuts to public broadcasting and has attacked the free press by filing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, according to the ACLU, which argues that these actions violate the First Amendment.

Denis Akbari Named Harvard-Yale IPIPS Journalism Fellow

Denis Akbari, a Berkeley Journalism student, volunteered with the San Quentin News and is now working with Harvard-Yale IPIPS to develop the Inside Knowledge platform, a collaborative, justice-driven media infrastructure that empowers incarcerated people to become creators, scholars, and civically engaged members of their communities.
