Dear Friends,
2011 was a banner year for the Vanguard. As we mentioned previously, readership in the fifth full year of the Vanguard was up 60% over the previous year.
Fundraising in 2011 was at an all-time high as we topped $35,000 – not bad for a publication that has been run on a shoe-string budget since its inception.
For those who donated in 2011 – thank you, we are hoping to start off 2012 the right way. We will be sending out tax exempt receipts for 2011 in the coming days and hope that you will consider donating again.
For those who have not donated before – we need your help to get off on the right foot in 2012.
We showed the world what we could when we packed the house in Woodland to see the Innocence Project and Maurice Caldwell talk about preventing wrongful convictions.
Now we have even bigger goals for 2012. We are going to start off with a $10,000 goal for the month of January.
There are several ways to help.
- You can make a one-time donation either via our secure web site or by sending a check payable to:
Davis Vanguard
P.O. Box 4715
Davis, CA 95617
- You can purchase a subscription like you do with a newspaper and each month your credit will be deducted. Simply go to our secure web site, fill out your credit card information and be sure to press the “recurring” payment option at the bottom right.
- If you are a business owner and wish to advertise on the Vanguard, see our advertising page, we have the most competitive prices you will find
- Finally, if you click on the Amazon or Powell’s Book ad in the middle of the Vanguard page, the Vanguard gets a percentage of the money from your purchase
And look in the next few days as we have an exciting announcement about our January event.
Thanks for your support and may you and your family have a great 2012.
