Question of the Day

question_mark1Today’s question: What new features would you like on the Davis Vanguard site?  What problems are you having with the current site?

Have a question you want to ask? Log onto your twitter account and tweet it to us using the hashtag: #DavisVanguard

This is a new feature. Each afternoon we will have a question that we pose the Vanguard community. Sometimes it will be a local issue, sometimes a national issue, and sometimes a deeper and more philosophic question.

  1. Problems that I would like to see fixed: Can only easily find the five most recent posts; it would be better if this were a higher number, such as ten. Sometimes posts scroll off before I can read them. You cannot easily see whether there are new comments without reloading a particular post and scrolling to the bottom (some blogs list new comments on the side of the main page; you can then click on a particular comment). Finally, it would be good if posters made more of an effort to link to earlier, related Vanguard posts. I don’t find the search function very helpful.

  2. and the annoying function that somehow requires log in to make a comment (every few days) but when you go to the log in page, I am already logged in!
also perhaps an easy way to extract a quote from a prior post and then comment on it.
    Thanks for asking David!

  3. David–you’re doing a good job with this forum and articles; lately with articles from both sides (or perhaps more accurately many sides!) of the Davis water supply issue.
