We are more than halfway to our first goal of $1000 in monthly recurring donations – It has been a tumultuous few months for the Vanguard, offline for unrelated server and other problems twice now since December. In the short term, we believe that our problems are behind us. The new site is working and stable.
Our traffic has grown enormously over the years and, in particular, over the last few months. In addition, so has our coverage.
A number of people have asked over the last week how they can help. Here is how.
During good times, it is necessary to assess our situation and plan for the future. One area that needs shoring up is the need not to have to go into crisis mode and have to raise $2000 in a couple of weeks to shore up site infrastructure.
Coming up later this year, we will be upgrading our ad revenue program. But, in the meantime, the best way for us to get a more stable revenue is to ask our readers to pledge at least $10 a month in monthly recurring subscriptions.
We began the process last week, and would like to reach out again to our readers.
If we can get up to 100 such subscribers, we can have a stable source of revenue to be able to maintain the current site and grow into the future. Your donation will help us pay for our new dedicated server, continued maintenance and upgrades to the website, and possible staff to help run the Vanguard.
If you believe what we are doing is worthwhile and a value to our community, please make your pledge today. For less than the cost of a monthly newspaper subscription, you can keep the Vanguard growing.
There are two ways to do that.
If you can go to PayPal.com and give to account: info@davisvanguard.org at a level of at least $10 a month, for less than the cost of a monthly newspaper subscription, you can help the Vanguard stay on the internet.
You can also go here and hit the “recurring contribution” bottom at the bottom right of that page.
Thanks for your support and thanks to the hundreds who have donated to the Vanguard over the years.
