(From Press Release) – State Assemblyman Bill Dodd today announced receiving the endorsement of retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Gabriel Griess, a former opponent in the race for California State Senate District 3. After a decorated career serving in many high-level posts in the Air Force, Lt. Colonel Griess retired last year and ran a spirited grassroots campaign as a candidate for District 3.
“I spent a lot of time with Bill on the campaign trail, and I was impressed by his ability to listen to people and respectfully appreciate their point of view, even if he disagreed on an issue,” said Lt. Col. Griess. “I ran to improve education, fix our water supply, preserve our environment, and bring a new approach to state government. And Bill Dodd is the best candidate to carry those issues forward.”
“Bill has the leadership skills and track record of effectiveness to bridge the political divide in Sacramento and put everyday Californian’s first.”
“I am proud to endorse him,” continued Lt. Col. Griess.
Dodd is running for the 3rd Senate District, which includes all of Napa and Solano Counties, as well as portions of Contra Costa, Sacramento, Sonoma and Yolo Counties. It includes the cities of Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park, Sonoma, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, St. Helena, Yountville, Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo, Davis, Winters, Woodland and Isleton.
Dodd is a Democrat from Napa County. After a successful 25-year business career, Dodd served four terms on the Napa County Board of Supervisors, and currently represents the 4th Assembly District.
