Bob Poppenga will receive my vote for the Davis school board in November. Here are three reasons why:

* First, he is committed to strengthening Davis’ schools. Through his campaign and community service, he has demonstrated a willingness to invest the time and energy to work on behalf of all students in addressing their various needs.

* Second, he would bring fresh ideas for invigorating our schools and capitalizing on the community’s resources. His successful efforts in establishing a partnership between the veterinary school and the school district illustrate the creative yet practical approach he would bring.

* Finally, Bob is a thoughtful person who is willing to listen and consider the evidence before taking a position. His good judgment would serve him — and all of us — well on the Davis school board.
